Former Chief General Manager (HR) & Head Corporate Sports Division, ONGC, Pradeep Singh had his formative schooling in Mussoorie and Dehra Dun at St. George’s College and St Joseph’s Academy. He did his History honours from Delhi University and his MA and MPhil from JNU. Currently he is pursuing a PhD in History!
Pradeep Singh joined ONGC, the flagship explorer for Oil & Natural Gas in India, in the year 1985. He has served in various capacities as Incharge Human Resource in Tripura, Mumbai, Dehradun, etc. He has been a keen sportsman in college and university level and his passion is cricket in which he has represented his college in Delhi University and ONGC’s Head Quarter team in various tournaments. From 2014 to early 2017 he headed ONGC’s Corporate Sports Division which is a dedicated vertical for promoting over 23 disciplines of sports and games including 19 fully recruited teams of ONGC that include nearly 166 National / International players.
The work of Corporate Sports Division, headed by Pradeep Singh was recognized widely with the FICCI Award for 2015 as being the Best Corporate Promoting Sports and Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Puraskar awarded by the Hon’ble President of India. Presently Pradeep Singh has served as an Executive Member of Petroleum Sports Promotion Board (PSPB) and All India Public Sector Sports Promotion Board (AIPSSPB). He is currently the President of Uttaranchal Cricket Association having served the Association in two earlier terms also. He authored two books, “The Suswa Saga: A family Narrative of Eastern Dehradun” and “Sals of the Valley : A memorial to Dehra Dun”. He was also the Project Head for ONGC’s Mount Everest Expedition in 2017 in which seven members climbed Mount Everest. Pradeep Singh has also served as a member of the BCCI’s Uttarakhand Cricket Consensus Committee for 2018-19.
