Manik Kaur Sadana
A graduate from Lady Irwin College, New Delhi and a post graduate in Finance from Symbiosis Institute of Management, my passion lies in adding value to the life of those around me especially children. I believe that helping children live up to their potential, believe in themselves, be effective leaders as well as team players and deal with ups and downs of life with confidence is the need of the hour. However, it is also important to impart the right values and morals at the same time as it acts as building blocks for the right character building and eventually personality development of each child. My active involvement on the same issues goes back to studies in the field of child development and interaction with mentally challenged children at the enabling centre of my college.
As an Indian, I have always felt the need for spreading the awareness and importance of good manners, etiquette, groomed behaviour and soft skills amongst every citizen of our country so that we represent ourselves as civilized and empathetic nation and not otherwise. It is a concern that I feel extremely passionate about and thus, I have dedicated my life to the same mission empowering the students of all age groups. The concern for the same has resulted in a movement (Page) initiated by me on my social handles Facebook and Instagram under the name of “Mindful Living”.
Have also worked on leadership, stress management, effective communication and team building modules with The Doon School, Unison School, Doon International School, Welham Girls School, Welham Boys School Dehradun, Kasiga School Dehradun, Pathways School Gurgaon, Modern School New Delhi and Scindia School Gwalior, to name a few, on life skills coaching. My workshops have been appreciated by the students and staff alike, to the extend that I have been asked to conduct the same workshops for the teachers as well by Welham Girls School as it would not just and value, but also put the teachers on the same page as the students. It was indeed an honor and a privilege at same time.
By conducting various workshops with schools , other educational institutions and even privately, I aim to coach and empower the new generation with the right etiquette, grooming skills and personality development to evoke a sense of confidence and poise within oneself and compassion and empathy within the society .
I have been working as a volunteer for Aasraa Trust since the last few years now and have a passion of reaching out to people through my writings based on social issues which have found place in various newspapers from time to time. Recently, I moderated a session with renowned author Mr. Sudeep Nagarkar at the Dehradun Literature Festival. This session was especially organized for the Senior School Students. I have also moderated sessions at the prestigious Valley of Words (VOW) Literature Festival which was received extremely well.
The modules developed are based on most innovative and interesting delivery methods including live demonstrations and active participation of the target audience as compared to dull and boring PowerPoint presentations . Committed to helping people be their best version so they might lead flourishing lives and at the same time inculcating the value of giving it back to society in the most meaningful and compassionate way.
