Lieutenant General PC Katoch

Lieutenant General PC Katoch, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, SC, a third generation army officer, superannuated as Director General Information Systems of Indian Army in 2009. He commanded a Special Forces battalion in Sri Lanka, a Brigade in Siachen, a Division in Ladakh and a Strike Corps in South Western Theatre. He has served as Defence Attaché in Japan with accreditation to South Korea. Graduate of National Defence College, post retirement, he has authored over 1950 articles on international affairs, geopolitics, military, security, technical and topical issues. He is Distinguished Fellow at United Service Institution of India and has presented papers in USA, China, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Afghanistan and Maldives. He has authored two books: ‘India’s Special Forces – History and Future of Indian Special Forces’, and; ‘Indian Military and Network Centric Warfare’.  His third book titled ‘Special Operations Case Studies – Lessons for India’ is under publication.
