The book hails their grit determination and the spirit of trying to achieve the impossible. Hailing from humble backgrounds with very little access to modernity, they have become role models and icons for their society and the country.


About the Author: 

Being an experienced officer of the 1991 batch of CRPF, Nitu has worked in tough areas and handled critical assignments. Recipient of the Police Medal for Meritorious Service, Antrik Suraksha Padak and Kathin Seva Padak, she has worked closely with women in the forces. She has authored an anthology of English poetry, Resurrection, a woman reborn. The book has been translated into Chinese and was also prominently displayed at the Beijing International Book Fair 2016 and 2017. Her book of short stories based on near real conflict situations of Punjab and Kashmir, Half Life has been displayed at many International Book Fairs. Her book of Hindi poetry, Mera Apna Kshitij was released at the Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi on March 8, 2018 on Women's Day.
