What made you write this book?

I have been an avid traveller since 2007 and this is during one of my travels to Pachmarhi, I thought, why not make my hobby into a full-time career! Any which ways, I had always been keen on starting something of my own and during my MBA days at Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai, I thought of starting something which can help corporates to organize team events. This is where “Ghoomophiro” was born. It has been 5 years into this journey and over this period we have expanded from one person to the team of 15. Our portfolio has also expanded from corporate team events to solo women travellers. As part of solo women groups, we have fixed departures for women who are travelling solo for hiking, and wildlife seeing. Travelling in such groups gives these women travellers an opportunity to network.

What is your motivation?

The happiness I experience with every reader’s feedback. Every-time I receive a message on my social media profiles that one of my books has inspired a reader, I feel motivated and content. Another beautiful part of being an author is the love and affection people give you and the way, they look up to you.

What will you tell young and aspiring entrepreneurs who wish to take the leap of faith and start something new?

Never get troubled with what others say/talk about you. There shall be people who will always try to pull you down. Just keep moving, learn from your mistakes and above all, always remember- you just have one life; hence live it to the fullest. Don’t stop chasing your dreams!
Writing a book was always on my bucket list. But I always wanted to write something that can inspire the youth and was a topic close to my heart. Being an entrepreneur myself, I realised entrepreneurship has its own pros and cons and the youth these days need clear guidance. This inspired me to come up with this ambitious series. My readers can look forward for more to come.

What is it like to be a couple entrepreneur?

It has its own positives and negatives. But based on my conversations with these supercouples, I have realised, couples who are co-founders together emerge with a better bonding amongst themselves as they have seen the worst together and they understand each other better.

Which entrepreneur couple while researching for the Supercouples really inspired you?

Each couple in the book have their own unique journey. It will be an injustice to the rest of them if I would name only one.

What would your advise to the younger generation be?

To the kids running after funding, I would say please focus on the product instead of ways to get funds. Once your product is strong, people will run after you to give you the funds. Be a bootstrapped startup, always give edge on creative ways to get your entrepreneurial dream going.
Be it for writers or entrepreneurs, all I would say is, it is a long journey, never settle for less, there might be hiccups on the way but keep moving because sky is the limit!
