What are your key interests and the genres you usually delve into as a freelance writer?

I have had a wide interest in writing in the fields of Defence Matters, Military History, Socio-Political and Economic Fields and have also have been conducting  interviews with successive  Governors of Uttarrakhand and leading personalities.

That is a pretty niche topic. Please throw some light on how you got interested in defence matters and the military.

I belong to an eminent military family, my  father was Late Lt Gen Mohindar Singh, AVSM. My grandfather also served in the British Indian Army and received the award of Order of British India. It is a natural progression that I write about defence matters.

We would love to know more about your published work and writings

I have written a  biography of the late Shri Morarji Desai, the former Prime Minister of India in 1994, which in the words of Nani Palkhivala is a volume which “was a significant national service on the life of a great Prime Minister.”
I have  also been writing on socio-political topics in various periodicals and magazines. I wrote a full length monograph on Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw that was published by the United Service Institution of India in 2003 as prescribed text for the DSSC exam of all three Defence Services. I am a regular contributor to the USI Journal and “Defence Watch” magazine. I wrote “Myths and Realities of Security and Public Affairs,” an anthology of my writings in 2011, which was released in New Delhi by Shri Soli J. Sorabjee former Attorney General of India and later in Dehra Dun by Shri Irwin Allan Sealy, Booker Prize Nominee.
