Iti Smriti: The Memorabilia Bazaar
Iti Smriti is a platform where we showcase products from local communities that are environmentally friendly, hand crafted, or made out of ubiquitous waste materials.
We celebrate the self-reliance, professional skills, confidence and pride of the local communities through these artifacts.
In Iti Smriti 2018, we showcased and sold crafts from the Saperas (snake charmers) of Sapera Basti, the rag pickers of Madrasi Basti/Prince Chowk and the inmates of Dehradun’s correctional facility. NIESBUD played a stellar role by conducting on-site design workshops ranging from a few days to a few weeks, leveraging the craftsmen and craftswomen’s dexterity with needs of contemporary functional utility and design.
For Iti Smriti 2019, we showcased and sold various products sourced from local artisans.
For Iti Smriti 2020, we invite local artisans and not-for-profit organisations to collaborate with us to showcase and sell their products.
Stalls will be assigned by the festival curators in line with the vision and goals of the festival.
Potential exhibitors need to submit their registrations latest by the 30th of September, 2020.
