About the Author: 

Ms. Roohi Soni was born and brought up in Chandigarh. Her schooling happened from different places as her father had a transferable job. She is an advocate by profession. She graduated from M. C. M. DAV College, Chandigarh and then went on to get a post-graduation degree in English literature from Govt. College, Hoshiarpur. Both these colleges come under Punjab University, Chandigarh. She did her graduation in Law from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar.
She got married to Sanjeev Soni, advocate, Punjab and Haryana High court, at a place near Amritsar. She is now a mother of two. Her daughter is currently pursuing M.B.B.S, while her son is doing B.Com LLB. The place where she got married had very few English medium schools in those days, so she opened one for the children in that area.
Since she was an advocate, she got appointed as the court auctioneer by the Punjab and Haryana High Court. Thereafter, she became the President [JUDGE] District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum. Presently, she is practicing as an advocate at Punjab and Haryana High Court.
