PREETIāS 4A MINDFULNESS MODEL
Preetiās 4A Mindfulness Model is based on four fundamental pillars that are the foundation for wellness at home, school and work. It aims to strengthen the connection within oneself.
Due to our narrow outlook of life much more needs to be done Now to uplift our conscious understanding for a happy and healthy physical, mental and emotional quotient at all times. The model must be put into practice with conscious daily efforts till it becomes our second nature and a way of life.
be. Aware, Accept, Act and Ameliorate are the four pillars of mindfulness. The mindfulness model helps us at two levels. At a broader level, it enables us to be mindful and aware of our emotions, attitudes and behavior with other people. Acceptance of āwhat isā not only helps orient an action plan to resolve and enhance life but it also reduces the tight grip of ego on our mind and allows us to offer and seek help and rely on other people and situations.
At a deeper level, the model brings to our awareness and connects us with the inner world of all the emotions felt, attitudes developed and outward reactions. Accepting and acknowledging them is the second step to overriding limiting thoughts that can have an adverse impact on our well-being. It is only when we are mindful and accept ourselves and others at face value, can we replace our threats and weaknesses to build upon our strengths and opportunities.
be. Aware : Being Aware
Accept : To accept the self and others
Act : Take action, Implement
Ameliorate : Enhance to make life better for peace, happiness and success
In the Bhagavad Gita, on the battlefield of Kurukshetra, Lord Krishna urges Arjuna to be mindful of the situation and act accordingly. He says that be aware of who is standing against you, be mindful of what you are meant to do as a warrior and why, accept the reality, act wisely to plan your actions to rise, shine and enhance living. Through coaching and counselling by his mentor Lord Krishna and mindful introspection, Arjuna, who was a victim of churning emotions on the battlefield, not only became aware of the emotions he experienced and the need of the hour but was able to accept the reality of his life. He was able to balance and calm his oscillating emotions and ignite his inner power to face his reality; to battle against his family as the need of the hour and improve the lives of many.
