An Author’s word: Padmaja Ghorpade
1.If not an author which other creative field would one find you in and why?
No other field. Most probably one would have find me in the audience. Because listening is also an art, I believe.
2.What does the written word mean to you?
For me the written word carries truth, belief, promise and guidelines. It depicts various shades and levels of our mind, emotions and gives space to readers for imagination.
3.Your personal favourite five authors in any genre.
Difficult to choose five favourite authors but let’s try-
- Sharatchandra Chattopadhyay
- Leo Tolstoy
- Maxim Gorky
- Anton Chekhov
4.What is your favourite word, in any language, and how would you describe its meaning?
‘Wisdom’ – my favourite word. It carries vast range of consciousness, capacities of mind, behavioral skills, indicates a beautiful balance in emotions and thoughts as well as throws light on spiritually based practical approaches.
5. E-Book or physical book? What do you prefer and why?
Only physical book. l don’t believe in e- learning, e- book etc. Physical book establishes an intact relationship and dialogue with readers and stays on in his imagination and foresight. Any electronic media in itself is a huge hurdle or barrier and prohibits our mind capacities to think, imagine and respond properly.
