An Author’s Word: Ishani Naidu
Teaching how to apply ancient wisdom of Vedanta and Ayurveda in our modern lives with lots of playful storytelling for children and parents (and happily this really is what I do when I’m not writing!)Â
2.What does the written word mean to you?
I experience the written word as a symbol of a vibration – it symbolizes an inner impulse the writer felt within and put out into the world that will subtly impact all those that it comes into contact with. This idea of the vibrational power of words inspires me to use them with conscious intention.Â
3.Your personal favourite five authors in any             Â
My two daughters’ creative stories warm my heart every time! Acharya Shunya’s books on spirituality and Ayurveda are my life guides. Anushka Ravishankar and Jeanette Winter’s children’s books are always surprising and lovely.Â
Â
4. What is your favourite word, in any language, and how would you describe its meaning?Â
‘Shantam’ – I love to remember that underneath all the fluctuations of life there is abiding peace.Â
I love to underline and jot down thoughts and questions in pencil in the margins.Â
