Binod Mishra


Dr. Binod Mishra (b. 1966), a Ph.D on Mulk Raj Anand, is currently an Associate Professor of English at IIT Roorkee, Uttarakhand, India. He has also served in R.C. College, Majuli (Assam) and BITS Pilani (Rajasthan) before joining IIT Roorkee. A recipient of AIMS International Distinguished Service Award (2008), “AIMS Outstanding Editor Award” (2009), and “Excellence in World Poetry Award (2010), he has to his credit 23 books (07 authored and 16 edited) on various topics of English literature and language. His book entitled Communication Skills for Engineers and Scientists, co-authored with Sangeeta Sharma in 2009 is being used both as a text and reference book in reputed technical institutes.
He has also two published two poetry collections, namely Multiple Waves (2017) and Silent Steps and Other Poems (2011). He also co-edited an anthology of poems entitled Exiled Among Natives (2013). In 2012, Dr. Mishra was elected as the Editor-in-Chief of Indian Journal of English Studies (a journal published by Association for English Studies in India) and is presently serving his second term. He has significantly published his scholarly papers (more than 100) and about dozen book reviews in reputed journals and books, besides delivering talks and presenting papers in many national and international conferences.
